dc.description | David Langstaff leads a team of experts who provide advanced system engineering, integration, and decision-support services to the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and civilian agencies of the federal government. TASC’s portfolio of services includes: mission operations; analysis and engineering; system and policy analysis; program, financial and acquisition management; enterprise engineering and integration; advanced concept and technology development; test and evaluation; independent verification and validation; and cybersecurity. TASC also maintains numerous engineering and research laboratories and manages a robust independent research and development program to establish and deliver mission-critical technologies and capabilities. Before assuming his current position in March 2011, Langstaff served as chairman of the board of directors since December 2009, when the company separated from Northrop Grumman Corporation. Previously, Langstaff was president, CEO, and director of Veridian Corporation. Veridian was an advanced technology company that specialized in mission-critical national security programs primarily for the Intelligence Community, military, and U.S. government agencies involved in law enforcement and homeland security. Veridian was regarded as one of the preeminent companies in its field with a strong values-based culture, and its IPO was recognized by the Financial Times as one of the 10 best global IPOs in 2002. Langstaff has held several leadership and board positions with companies in the defense sector including SRA International, Inc., QinetiQ Group PLC, and The Olive Group. Earlier in his career, he was CFO, COO, and CEO of Veridian’s predecessor companies. In 2009, he was named to the Defense Business Board, which provides independent advice to the secretary and deputy secretary of defense. In addition, Langstaff is a senior seminar moderator on values-based leadership with The Aspen Institute. In 2010, he assumed the role of chairman of This I Believe, Inc., an educational organization dedicated to disseminating essays written by people on the core values that guide their daily lives. He also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Aspen Institute Business and Society policy program, is a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development, and sits on boards of other nonprofit organizations in the fields of the arts, education and environment. Langstaff earned a B.A. in history from Harvard College, and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. | |
