dc.description.abstract | We present a novel interactive visualization scheme for state-based hypertension progression modeling using hidden Markov models, applied to electronic health records of a cohort population enrolled in a hypertension management program. The visualization tool provides an interface for exploratory analysis and model validation, and improves the interpretability of the model results for healthcare researchers. We demonstrate a preliminary application of the visualization to compare states visited and transitions taken by two different subgroups with distinctive hypertension trajectories. | en_US |
