dc.description.abstract This photo depicts Bill Fincher just after he has kicked a football. An unidentified player is lying on the ground at Fincher's right side, presumably having held the ball just kicked by Fincher. The background is blurred but shows a crowd of spectators seated in bleachers. A fence is visible behind the bleachers. A caption has been added to the upper left of the photo: "ALL-AMERICAN 1920 Ga. Tech Tackle World Champion Goal Kicker 65 out of 68 attempts" while Fincher's name appears on the upper right. The numerals 69316 appear bottom right.||Bill Fincher, M.E. '21, was an All-Southern and two-time All-American football player at Georgia Tech. He played tackle and end in the glory days of William A. Alexander's first years as Tech's coach. He later served as line coach of the Tech team from 1925 to 1931. Fincher is a member of the Georgia Tech Football Hall of Fame. en_US
