dc.description This report provides documentary, graphic, and physical information about the history and existing condition of 888 Hemphill Avenue (Old Central Receiving building/John Carver Company) on the campus of Georgia Tech. The Old Central Receiving Building was constructed in the mid-1950s as an industrial building. It was used as a warehouse for an infant clothing wholesale company, and then purchased by Georgia Tech in the 1960s. Georgia Tech has used it as a warehouse since this time. en_US
