What are the strategic, regional, political, and other drivers & consequences of U.S. action amid unfolding events in Syria? Given the recent events surrounding the suspected use of chemical weapons in Syria and contemplation of use of military force, CISTP is hosting a panel discussion on Syrian Crisis, the implications for WMD proliferation and terrorism, and broader security repercussions in the Middle East. The purpose of this panel will be to answer questions and to help the audience navigate these difficult policy considerations fostering an informed public debate.

ItemUS-ROK Nuclear Energy and Fuel Cycle Cooperation: From Impasse to Opportunity(Georgia Institute of Technology, 2012-10-09) Stulberg, Adam ; Ferguson, Charles ; Hall, Howard L. ; Charlton, William S. ; Yim, Man-Sung ; Miller, StevenCISTP and the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) presented a panel discussion on the prospects for strengthening nuclear energy cooperation between the U.S. and South Korea. As part of an effort to advance respective national deliberations on the renewal of this important partnership, CISTP and KAIST convened a panel of esteemed scholars and policy experts to explore key technological, economic, political, and strategic dimensions to the issue. This event was generously supported by a grant from the Korea Foundation.
