How can we bring the institutional repository (IR) into the online workflow of faculty
users? This session explores a (2014-16) Mellon-funded research project
partnership between Zotero and the Penn State University Libraries. The
project's goal is to connect Penn State's Hydra-based IR, ScholarSphere, with
the Zotero client, allowing users to claim and deposit publications in
ScholarSphere from within the Zotero interface. The session will detail the
software development goals, plans for follow-up ethnographic research
assessing the impact of the software. Implications and opportunities for
other institutions with Hydra-based IRs interested in exploring a Zotero
connections will also be shared.
