Great, Thank you. Next up will be speaking on tracking immune cells with ultrasound for diagnosis of cancer. Researchers have spent countless hours and millions of dollars trying to find the ultimate cure for cancer. Recently, one of those skills that has gained a lot of popularity is immunotherapy. Immunotherapy, the type of treatment in which immune cells, cells that fight diseases in our bodies are extracted, modified, and then reinjected with a specific aim to kill cancer cells. Now immunotherapy has proven to be very effective in some types of cancers, but not on. The reason for this is that once injected, there is no way of knowing if the immune cells are doing their job. That is, have the visa tumor or and then other killing the tumor cells. The only way it could be man immunotherapy as effective is to look at the tumor size reduction in a few months. Few months could be a matter of life or death for some patients. So wouldn't it be amazing to know right then and there, if an immunotherapies affected. My research is focused on tracking these immune cells from the minute there had been injected, deliveries a tumor site and have gone to work in killing the humors. And I proposed to do this with a very simple and safe diagnostic tool called ultrasound. Guess the very same that is used to safely image babies during childbirth. I use a particular type of immune cell called macrophages in my research. Now, macrophages are important immune cells that protect us all by engulfing foreign material that AIM does our body. I hardness is ability. How these macrophages engulf micro bubbles. Now micro bubbles, tiny gas-filled bubbles that shine like flashlights when exposed to ultrasound. With the help of state-of-the-art computational tools and lab experiments in mice models, I was able to show that these macrophage engulf micro bubbles also shine like flashlights when exposed to ultrasound from deep within the body. Hence, I was able to visualize them safely and effectively. Thus setting the stage for future human trials. An added advantage of using macrophages is that prior research has shown us that the more severities of the cancers comes more accumulation of these macrophages are the tumor site. Since I'm able to visualize them, I now have a pool in my hand. Let me without any invasive procedure, what stage of cancer you may have and if the immunotherapy given to you is effective or not, it might shed some light as to why some immunotherapies theory. So in conclusion, I do hope that when my approach somebody in the future, I will be starting this very speech with, hey, immunotherapy is the ultimate types of cancers. Thank you.
