Abstract
A watershed evaluation was conducted by a metro
Atlanta utility to examine water quality impacts attributable
to an advanced wastewater treatment facility. A biological
assessment and computer model were used to assess effects
resulting from the effluent and those from other sources. A
watershed management alternatives analysis was developed
from the results of the assessment and model. The project
led to the identification of actions needed to reduce
phosphorus loadings in order to preserve water quality.
