Abstract
This paper presents the design, development, and preliminary evaluation of an AI-enhanced curriculum for K-12 education with a focus on teaching programming and ethical AI concepts. This five-module progressive curriculum integrates basic and advanced techniques in programming with critical discussions on AI ethics. The project also involves project-based learning (PBL), hands-on activities, and ethical decision-making to prepare students for a future in which technology will be integrally related to societal dynamics. This course has been developed by feedback from pilot implementation and a targeted survey, showing the appeal and challenges of such curriculum implementation in different educational settings. It gives insight into designing accessible, scalable, and impactful learning experiences to serve a wide variety of education needs.
