Abstract
Mr. Marc Vanheukelen is the Head of Unit for Relations with the United States and Canada, in the Directorate General for External Relations, of the European Commission. He previously has served as Deputy Head of Cabinet to the Belgian Minister for Foreign Affairs among many other positions during his long tenure at the European Commission. He has held teaching posts at the European Public Finance, University of Saarbrücken, Germany; University of Limburg, Belgium, and taught International Economics at ICHEC, Brussels.
