dc.description.abstract The Atlanta BeltLine project is one of the largest redevelopment projects currently underway in the United States. It includes the transformation of a 22-mile loop of freight rail to parks, trails, transit, and residential and commercial developments. The project has been viewed as a springboard for a new vision for the City of Atlanta, one of greenspace, walkability, high-quality infill development, transit, and healthy communities. With funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, CQGRD, with technical assistance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, undertook an Health Impact Assessment (HIA) of the BeltLine to make health a part of the decision-making process. en_US
