Abstract
The 2011 annual World Town Planning Day Symposium at Georgia Tech, entitled CENTS & SENSIBILITY: Atlanta's Transportation Vision, focused on how the final list of proposed transportation projects, to be funded by the Transportation Investment Act (TIA) if passed, can support planning goals for the environment, economic development, and regional equity. The Student Planning Association (SPA) invited Mayor Bucky Johnson of the City of Norcross, Colleen Kiernan of the Sierra Club, and Tom Weyandt of the Atlanta Mayor’s Office to demonstrate how the list of projects will individually and collectively impact the region.
