Abstract
An automated weather station network has been
developed by the College of Agricultural and Environmental
Sciences of the University of Georgia. Since 1991 more than
30 weather stations have been installed in mainly remote
locations of the state of Georgia. A climatic data base is being
developed that includes detailed rainfall, temperature, wind,
solar radiation, and other variables. This information can be
used as an environmental resource by managers and other
decision makers.
