Abstract
This interdisciplinary studio aims to demonstrate that any major can contribute to sustainable community development. We partnered with Central Atlanta Progress to advance two goals of the 2017 Downtown Atlanta Master Plan: to restore the urban forest and to enhance green infrastructure. Students broke into three teams (Science & Technology, Engineering & Design, and Public Engagement & Communication) to compile or create evidence to support the planning goals and their outcomes outlined in the Atlanta Downtown Master Plan, and to identify alternative opportunities and implementation strategies to enhance green infrastructure downtown. This report details their research, findings, and recommendations.
