Abstract
This study seeks to determine the qualitative and quantitative motives for local governments to build large urban parks, like Centennial Olympic Park, and subsequently incorporates them into a model through which one might analyze future projects. This paper is especially concerned with the ways urban parks affect economic development and the benefits and drawbacks of creating new parks.
