| dc.description | Andy Perlmutter currently serves as President and CEO of Better World Books, a self-sustaining, triple-bottom-line company that sell books online in order to donate books and fund literacy initiatives worldwide. As CEO, Andy leverages an experience mix of serial entrepreneurship and Fortune 500 leadership. He built two successful businesses, the first acquired by GE Capital following 10 years of double-digit growth, and the second achieving tremendous success as a private company before a successful public offering made it a member of the New York Stock Exchange. In addition to Andy’s successful startup experiences, he was on the Senior Leadership Team that built Reed Elsevier’s LexisNexis Risk Solutions business unit. This business may be best known in Atlanta for its acquisition of Alpharetta-based Choicepoint in 2000 – a transaction valued at $4.1B. Andy has also served as a founding board member of Atlanta's North Metro Miracle League. This non-profit organization raised funds and successfully completed the construction of an award winning, barrier-free facility for children and adults with varying degrees of physical and mental ability in Alpharetta. Andy has lived in metro Atlanta since 1988 with his wife and 3 SEC-educated children. | |
