Abstract
This urban design studio class report documents the work of a mix of Master of Science in Urban Design and Master of Architecture students for a sponsored study of development possibilities along the Kimberly Road SW corridor in the City of South Fulton and the City of Atlanta. NPU-P, the Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit sponsored Professor Ellen Dunham-Jones’ class and the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute, and Atlanta Housing donated John Skach's time to participate as an instructor. The goal is to explore how to both meet the cities’ needs for development and housing while also conserving the approximately 1,000 acres of highly biodiverse forest that straddles Kimberly Road.
