Abstract
The Georgia Institute of Technology Library has been using Swank and Kanopy for several years for its course reserve needs. Both platforms have strong and distinct catalogs that align with the Institute’s instructional needs. In this article, we will discuss our internal workflows that empower faculty to request films, how we process these requests, work with the metadata, and track spending and invoicing. Additionally, we will explain how we integrate films into our current course reserves and reading list tool, Ex Libris’ Leganto. Lastly, we will compare the strengths and weaknesses of the two platforms considering our workflows.
