Abstract
This dissertation covers mechanism design problems in online logistic platforms. Chapter 2 considers an online order fulfilment problem in E-commerce retail, and we analyze policies based on the worst-case approach. The following chapters are related to truck freight marketplaces. We design mechanisms for two-sided marketplaces. Chapter 3 studies posted price mechanisms; while Chapter 4 focuses on auction mechanisms. Chapter 5 covers dynamic mechanisms. Our work gives meaningful insight how to handle uncertainties in online marketplaces.
