Abstract
Natural attenuation recently became a widely accepted means of restoring groundwater resources. The Electric Power Research Institute's computer· program called Remedial Options Assessment Model (ROAM) successfully predicted the outcome of natural attenuation for a complex mixture of dissolved coal tar and cyanide at a former manufactured gas plant site. The benefit of predicting natural attenuation with ROAM can be measured with monetary savings.
