Abstract
Groundwater concentrations tend to decline exponentially over time and distance due to natural attenuation or remedial actions. Exponential decline plots make use of existing data to empirically predict the time or distance to achieve groundwater protection standards and can be used in lieu of numerical modeling where there is a large amount of historical groundwater monitoring data for the site.
