| dc.description.abstract | Experimental data on sound perception are presented on two issues: what aspects of a complex sound with several transients are important for accurate identification, and how much of a sound must be heard to identify it. The results of both experiments provide further insight into the properties of everyday sound that are related to good identification performance. The results of these studies support the notion that selection of sounds should be a careful design process. | en_US |
