dc.description | Mary Rockett Brock is Co-owner of the WNBA Atlanta Dream, the only professional sports franchise in the southeast owned by women. In its five-year history as an expansion team, the Dream has been in the playoffs four years and made the finals twice. While a WNBA Championship is a major goal for the Dream, Mary and her partner, Kelly Loeffler, operate the Dream as small business owners with an eye on the bottom line. In addition to her focus on building The Atlanta Dream, Mary is very committed to Georgia Tech and is actively involved in successful fund-raising initiatives for the university. She cochairs Campaign Georgia Tech with her husband, John, a Georgia Tech graduate and CEO of Coca Cola Enterprises. Importantly, the Campaign has achieved over 80% of its goal of raising $1.5 billion. Mary and John have also endowed faculty chairs in cancer research at Georgia Tech and Emory, scholarships in Chemical Engineering, and they provided the lead gift for the John and Mary Brock Football Practice Facility at Tech. Mary is also active outside of Georgia Tech, serving on the boards of Spelman College, Usher’s New Look Foundation, Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University, Horizons National, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Manhattan Choral Ensemble. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Miami University of Ohio and also has a M.S. Ed in Math and Science from Miami. | |
