OK Well I would like to thank the library and the participants as well. This is a little bit different viewpoint here again a little bit different viewpoint from a brand new journal that we're just watching. I can validate some of the comments that we just heard about two years ago we began discussing the idea of the new international journalist somebody management through my professional association which is primarily a practitioner association but there's a small group of academics who kept saying we have this very limited number of publications that we can go to there are there's actually two peer review journals in our industry which is primarily a young industry so that's one of the concepts not only do we want to publish but we want to share information across the globe to help increase the industry knowledge about the industry and really build up the body of knowledge for ourselves. So as I said about two years ago we came up with the idea we started talking about it. We actually put together a formal proposal that went to Blackwell wildly now combined as we heard organisation and they didn't tell us. No but they didn't say yes either because I think they recognise that drone publishing is in rather a delimiter now they don't know how to gain additional subscriptions with the very high rates that they're charging and at the same time we were becoming aware of the compact for open access policy that some of the universities that Rick mentioned the MIT Harvard Cornell those schools were talking about we said you know if they can do it. We can do it. So we really looked closely. I became aware of the open access just in here it George attack sat down and spent some time trying to really understand that and said This is great and it's not free and it's published here on this. But it's basically free for our association the storing of the materials and the support of the library staff come to us in a version this for a while though it is supported by Georgia Tech. So as with all journals we have our editors our reviewers and our contributors. Of course are on paid and we did decide that we did need some administrative assistant so we've done some fundraising within the association and some allied associations to bring in about eleven thousand dollars that we're hoping will get us through the first year of publishing and then we'll need to spend more time in fund raising again. But basically just in Ministre the person to help us with all the actual posting duties outside of the system functionality itself the public knowledge project and O.J. S. is the system that the Georgia Tech library uses it is an open access system and I would say it's a very robust system I'm still learning all the ins and outs of it but that's one of the reasons that we chose to just go forward with this venture because so many things were already a part of the system the structure for receiving papers submitting them to reviewers receiving reviewers reviews and making decisions about publishing or are really pretty simple. If you follow this the O.J. a system. So right now where we just had our call for papers two weeks ago we've got three papers that have been submitted we're still targeting to try to go live with our first issue as we're going to call it an indie Simberg but we do have to have a rolling increase in the number of papers that we include during the years that. Here's the here's the the Journal Web site right now. Interesting. Like when the call went out there was just. Some basic information in the reference to the website. We had some European reviewers questioned whether we had a high A C. and you know how we were doing peer review all of that is set up we're actually doing a blind review with three reviewers to help us really meet that standard for review and making sure that we're publishing in rigorous man again the online publishing system has its own structure set up. We were able to really short cut a lot of the roles and responsibilities that could be required such as copy editing and layout we're putting a lot of that back on the authors themselves and the editors will see how that goes then he changes we actually go through the process but we're hoping to install some rigor in the requirements for submission by the authors so that there will be less of that work behind things before the issue is completed. We felt very comfortable that open access and peer review would still be a strong part of the journal and so we're hoping that once were launched in once we get papers out there. We will be gaining a good impact factor but one of our key goals is as I said to capture of the body of knowledge for this emerging and growing industry. We felt like open access was really the best way to do that as Rick mentioned we really want to reach out to communities in the world China South America India Africa those areas they would not be able to typically read the information in a journal and get that knowledge and help expand the industries there so we really see it as a win win both for our profession and for the academics who can contribute and get credit for that as well as the practitioners and we are. I don't think I mentioned we are trying to balance both practice papers and research paper so that we do reach the whole audience. Thanks.
